Cisco’s Certified Network Professional Certification has been a cornerstone of Cisco’s Career Certification Program for more than 10 years. During this time there have been many changes in both the technologies available and the skills organizations require their network professionals to have.

Cisco Certifications are regularly enhanced to ensure that the certifications meet current job role requirements and these changes to the CCNP for Routing and Switching are no exception. The latest changes are designed to ensure that the skills and knowledge learnt are a more accurate reflection of the daily skills required by professional network engineers. Specifically, more emphasis was placed on security, complex routing & switching (such as support for branch offices and mobile workers), voice and video services.
